I want to forewarn you, this smoothie isn’t for the faint of heart. It definitely won’t taste like the smoothies you get in the mall, so work up to this one. Start with some of the more palatable smoothies on the blog and eventually you’ll crave something a little more intense and here the Super Smoothie will be waiting.
There are a lot of “foreign” ingredients in this one – don’t feel like you need to include them all. I’ve broken the smoothie down into “essentials” and “optional add-ins”. Start with the essentials and then add as many or as few of the add-ins as you want to a blender. I make it with everything, IMO it’s the best like that!
Ingredients (2 large servings)
Essentials:
1 banana
1 cup berries (I do a mix of raspberries and blueberries)
2 cups almond milk (or milk of your choice)
1/4 cup greek yogurt (I use 2% or full fat)
1 tbsp chia seeds
1 tsp cinnamon
2 large handfuls of spinach
Optional Add-Ins:
1 tsp turmeric
2 tsp grated ginger
1 tsp chlorella
1 tsp spirulina
1 tbsp wheatgrass
1 tbsp hemp protein
Once blended, split into two glasses and enjoy immediately. Due to the chia seeds, the consistency will change and become thicker if you wait to enjoy.
